So we all know that Hyaluronic Acid (HA) has become the popular must-have ingredient in skincare but what isn’t so commonly known is what it is, how and what it does, who should use it and when. Here’s what you need to know about HA for skin . . .

What is HA?

HA is a naturally occurring substance in skin known for its ability to attract & hold 1000X its weight in moisture. It is crucial to the moisture and elasticity of our skin. As we age, the concentration of HA substantially decreases and because of this, HA has been widely researched and formulated as a powerful active ingredient in serums, moisturizers, and other cosmetic products.

Why use it?

HA helps with dryness & dehydration* It penetrates the skin and binds water to skin cells, infusing all layers of the skin with valuable, rejuvenating moisture.

It enhances the skin’s lipid barrier* As we age, the lipid barrier (fatty acids that trap in water and prevent irritants entering the skin) in our epidermis slows down.
