How to perform the perfect at-home pedi

 

If you are dreaming of flip flops and sporting a fresh Pedicure instead of curling your neglected feet in shame, we’ve got just the thing and there’s no need to wait for this lockdown to be lifted . . . 

Our step-by-step tutorial  for your perfect at-home pedicure                              

Step 1 Soak. Soak feet in warm water and foot salts

Step 2 Dry. Remove feet from foot bath and towel dry.

Step 3 Remove nail polish.

Step 4 Make the Cut. Cut nails straight across and file (in one direction). Gently file corners of your nail to round/soften edges ( ingrown toenail tiptake a piece of cotton about the size of pencil tip, soaked in tea tree oil,  and using an orangewood stick gently fit it  under the corner of the nail- lifts ingrown,  relieves pressure+ shapes new nail  growth)

Step 5 Push Back. Gently push back cuticles using an orange wood stick (please leave cuticle trimming to us…it can be tricky)

Step 6 Scrub. Using a Foot Rasp or Pumice stone gently remove dry, hard or calloused skin, paying attention to your heels, ball of the foot and large toes 

Step 7 Rub. Apply Foot Scrub. Rub vigorously, paying attention to your heels and in between your toes. Rinse well. 

Step 8 Cream Moisturize with Foot Cream. fyi* to create a spa-like foot treatment do this before bedtime, put on a pair of cotton socks and allow the cream to work overnight.

Step 9 Paint. Remove any oils on your nails with nail polish remover and separate toes (diy separator*- use a tissue twist it and weave through your toes). Apply base coat, 2 coats of polish and top coat allowing each layer a few minutes to set in-between coats.

Step 10 Stop dreaming. Wear those flip flops or the most stylish sandals you own and  show off your beautiful toes!
